Coilochilus neocaledonicum is an endemic terrestrial orchid of New Caledonia, widespread in Grande Terre, from Tchingou in the north to Kuébini in the south of Grande Terre. It occurs in humid forest and shrubland at an altitudinal range 50-1,400 m asl. Coilochilus neocaledonicum is considered Least Concern (LC).

This species does not seem directly threatened.

Conservation


Coilochilus neocaledonicum is protected by legislation in Province Nord and in Province Sud and it does occur in several protected areas: Côte Oubliée, Forêt de Saille, Massif du Kouakoué, Montagne des sources, Mont Do, Mont Humboldt, Mont Mou, Pic du Pin, Rivière bleue, Vallée de la Thy.
