Ventilago buxoides is an endemic species distributed in the werstern coast of Grande Terre as well as in Belep islands. The species occurs in shrubland mainly on ultramafic substrates but it can also found on volcano-sedimentary substrates at an altitudinal range of 5 and 600 m asl. Ventilago buxoides has an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) equal to 9,243 km² and a minimum Area of Occupancy (AOO) of 120 km², but it does not appear to be threatened.Therefore, Ventilago buxoides is assessed as Least Concern (LC).

Ventilago buxoides is endemic to New Caledonia and it is distributed in the werstern coast of Grande Terre.

Population


Population size is unknown.

Habitat


Ventilago buxoides occurs in shrubland mainly on ultramafic substrates but it can also found on volcano-sedimentary substrates, up to 600 m asl.

Threats


This species does not seem to be threatened although some subpopulations may be threatened by bushfires and mining activities at Poum and Tiebaghi.

Conservation


Ventilago buxoides is not protected by legislation in New Caledonia and it does not occur in any protected areas.
