Acropogon dzumacensis is an endemic tree of the south part of Grande Terre in New Caledonia. It is found in dense humid forest on an ultramafic substrate at an altitude of 0-1,200 m asl. This species does not seem directly threatened. A. dzumacensis is considered Least Concern (LC).

Acropogon dzumacensis is an endemic tree of the south part of Grande Terre in New Caledonia (from Thio to Yaté-Mont-Dore).

Population


This species is found in small populations of 15-20 individuals.

Habitat


This species is found in dense humid forest on an ultramafic substrate at an altitude of 0-1,200 m asl.

Threats


This species does not seem directly threatened thanks to its large distribution.

Conservation


Protected species by legislation in Province Nord but not in Province Sud, A. dzumacensis is also found in several protected areas : réserve naturelle de la forêt de Saille, réserve naturelle du Mont Humboldt, réserve naturelle du Massif du Kouakoué, réserve naturelle du Mont Mou, réserve naturelle du Mont Do, Parc Provincial de la Haute-Dumbéa, Parc Provincial de la Rivière Bleue.
