Tetracera billardierei is an endemic species widely distributed on the main island of New Caledonia and the surroundings islands (île des Pins, Belep, île Ouen, Tanlé, Balabio). With an extent of occurrence (EOO) of 18,590 km2, an area of occupancy (AOO) of 128 km2 and around 50 known stations, Tetracera billardierei is assigned a status of Least Concern (LC).

Habitat


T. billardierei can be found as a bush on open vegetation or secondary forest, or as vine on humid forest on any soil.

No particular threat has been noticed.

Conservation


T. billardierei is not protected by legislation but it occurs in several protected areas (réserve naturelle de la Haute Dumbéa, réserve naturelle de la Vallée de la Thy, Parc Zoologique et Forestier, Le Parc du Ouen Toro - Albert Etuvé et Lucien Audet, réserve naturelle du Cap N’Dua, réserve naturelle de la Forêt Nord, réserve naturelle du pic du grand Kaori,réserve naturelle du Mont Mou).
