It is found in dense humid forest on a volcano-sedimentary substrate at an altitude of 500-1,200 m asl. This species does not seem directly threatened. A. schistophilus is considered Least Concern (LC).

Population
This species is locally abundant.
Habitat
This species is found in dense humid forest on a volcano-sedimentary substrate at an altitude of 500-1,200 m asl.

This species does not seem directly threatened.
Conservation
Protected species by legislation in province Nord, A. schistophilus is known from réserve naturelle du massif du Panié.
