Vulnerable (VU) , assessed in 24/10/2019

Leichhardtia tylophoroides is an endemic shrub from New Caledonia where it has a scattered distribution across the Grande Terre as well as an isolated subpopulation at Ile des Pins. This species occurs in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary and calcareous substrates at an altitude range of 10 and 950 m asl. The subpopulations on La Foa - Canala region is highly threatened by Rusa deer (Rusa timorensis) and the nothern lower subpopulations are highly impacted bushfires, with some subopulations completly destroyed. Its distribution range could be larger given its discattered distribution. Therefore its area of occupancy (AOO) is estimated to be betwwen 50 and 100 km² and its extent of occurrence (EOO) is estimated to be between 6,000 and 10,000 km² and its number of location estimated to be eight. Therefore, Leichhardtia tylophoroides is considered Vulnerable VU B1ab(i,ii,iii,iv,v)+2ab(i,ii,iii,iv,v) with a decline of all the concerned subcriteria.
