Weinmannia dichotoma is an endemic shrub/tree of New Caledonia. It is found in humid forest at mid and high altitude on various substrates. This species is largely distributed and does not seem directly threatened. Weinmannia dichotoma is considered Least Concern (LC). The red list status of the two varieties of Weinmannia dichotoma is not assessed.
Weinmannia dichotoma is widely spread on Grande Terre from Saint-Louis to Pouébo.
This species can be dominant in altitudinal forest.
It is found in humid forest at mid and high altitude (500-1,300 m asl) on various substrates.
This species does not seem globally threatened.
Unprotected by legislation, this species is found in several protected areas : Mont Humboldt, Mont Mou, Aoupinié, Massif du Kouakoué, Haute Dumbéa, Forêt de Saille, Mont Panié
