Syzygium meorianum is an endemic shrub of New Caledonia, which under current taxonomic delimitation, is resticted to the centre of the Grande Terre. As there are only two available collections observed by one person and due to the lack of fieldwork the extent of occurrence (EOO) could not be calculated. Due to the general nature of the locality information the level of threat to these particular collection sites are unknown. Further research of this species is needed to be able to understand its conservation needs. Syzygium meorianum is therefore considered Data Deficient (DD).
