Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 15/09/2016Psychotria ammericola is an endemic shrub or tree, widespread in the Grande Terre moutain range from Haute Tchamba in the north to Mont Nakada in the south of New Caledonia. Psychotria ammericola occurs in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary substrate at an altitudinal range 450- 1,000 m asl. This species does not seem globally threatened. Psychotria ammericola is considered Least Concern (LC).

Threats
This species does not seem globally threatened. However invasive species such as rusa rusa deer (Rusa timorensis), busfires and land clearance remain potential threats to this species.
