in Northern ProvincePlanchonella amieuana is an endemic tree of New Caledonia, where it has a scattered distribution in the center and northeast of Grande Terre. It grows in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary substrate from 375 to 700 m asl. Although it could have been impacted by past and present forest exploitation, it does not seem to be threatened. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are 2,013 and 60 km², respectively. Therefore, P. amieuana is listed as Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
P. amieuana is endemic to New Caledonia, where it has a scattered distribution in the center and the northeast of Grande Terre, from Ciu and Farino to Amoss.

Population size is unknown.
Habitat
This tree grows in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary substrate from 375 to 700 m asl. It has also been seen on serpentinous rocks.
Threats
Although this species could have been impacted by past and present forest exploitation (Mandjélia, col d'Amieu), it does not seem to be threatened.
Conservation
P. amieuana is protected by legislation in Province Nord and occurs in two protected areas: Aoupinié natural reserve, Grandes Fougères provincial park.
