The main threats identified are the destruction of habitat quality by wild pigs and seed's consumption by rats. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are both estimated 8 km² while the number of location is estimated to be one. Pandanus taluucensis is therefore assessed as Critically Endangered (CR) with criteria B1ab(iii)+2ab(iii) with a continuing decline of habitat quality.
