Data Deficient (DD) , assessed in 15/09/2016Psychotria sp. nov. "hopkinsiae" is an endemic shrub of New Caledonia, which under current taxonomic delimitation, is restricted to Cap Bocage and Kamoui area in Grande Terre. It would occurs in dense humid forest on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 0-100 m asl. This taxon is insufficiently collected and not well known. Psychotria sp. nov. "hopkinsiae" is therefore assessed as Data Deficient (DD) for provenance reasons.

Psychotria sp. nov. "hopkinsiae" is an endemic shrub of New Caledonia, restricted to Cap Bocage and Kamoui area.
Population
Population size is unknown.
Habitat
Psychotria sp. nov. "hopkinsiae" would occurs in dense humid forest on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 0-100 m asl.
Threats
Main identified threats are linked to on-going mining activities: Cap-bocage and bushfires.
Conservation
Prospection are needed to better evaluate the conservation status for this species. It is recommended to focus on Bogota and Kamoui area.
