Psychotria sp. nov. "paiciensis"is an endemic shrub of New Caledonia, which under current taxonomic delimitation, is restricted to Oua-tilou area. It would occurs in forest on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 900-935 m asl. This taxon is insufficiently collected and not well known. Psychotria sp. nov. "paiciensis" is therefore assessed as Data Deficient (DD) for provenance reasons.

Threats
Currently, Psychotria sp. nov. "paiciensis" does not appear to be impacted by any specific threat, but could be significantly affected if mining activity was launched on the massif du Oua-Tilou.

Taxonomy needs to be clarified.
