Codiaeum oligogynum is endemic to New Caledonia, where it is restricted to the north-western massifs of Grande Terre, from Katépahié (Voh) to Baaba island (Poum). This species is found in low elevation shrubland on ultramafic soils up to 300 m asl. Its area of occupancy (AOO) and extent of occurrence (EOO) are 52 km² and 318 km², respectively, and it is known from 9 locations. The main threats are posed by uncontrolled bushfires and mining activities. Therefore, C. oligogynum is listed as Vulnerable (VU) under criteria B1ab(ii,iii,v)+2ab(ii,iii,v).

C. oligogynum is endemic to new Caledonia, where it is restricted to the northern west coast of Grande Terre, from Katépahié (Voh) to Baaba island (Poum).
Population
Population size is unknown, but field observations indicate the species is common.
Habitat
C. oligogynum occurs in low elevation shrubland on ultramafic soils up to 300 m asl.
Threats
Main threats include uncontrolled bushfires and mining activities at Tiébaghi (SLN).
Conservation
C. oligogynum is protected by legislation in Province Nord, but does not occur in any protected areas. This species would benefit from ex situ and in situ emergency conservation actions. It is recommended to inform the local authority responsible for the coordination of the firefighting effort about the presence of the species in the concerned areas.
