Tremella samoensis Lloyd (1919)

Description

 Fruiting body :an extensively lobed jelly fungus which usually has a central point of attachment; 10- 40 mm radius; the texture is soft, gelatinized and moist to touch; it is generally a transluscent yellow to reddish orange in colour.
Flesh: gelatinous, lobes hollow and yellow to reddish orange, it is thicker when wet.
Spores: ovoid to ellipsoid;7 – 8 × 5 – 6 µm.
Notes: Tremella samoensis is hard to distinguish from T. mesenterica as they have similar colouration and form. This species has hollow lobes and smaller spores than the more common T. mesenterica.
