Description
Pileus: hemispherical then convex; 40-80 mms diameter; red or reddish brown with a velutinate cap; margin appendiculate.
Stipe: cylindrical to clavate; 50 - 80 × 10-15 mm; uniformly red or pale reddish, with longitudinal striations.
Pores: circular, 1-2 per mm; greenish yellow, old gold, depressed about the stipe.

Notes:this collection has a velutinate cap and might possibly be B. reminiscens, but it is not possible to confirm until the specimen has been examined microscopically.
