Fruiting body: complex branched groups; 20– 70 mm tall; branching up to 4 times; matt;apex usually two short roundedbranches;bright lilac violet;opaque.

Stipe: cylindrical, but not clearly differentiated.

Flesh: firm but fragile.

Spore print: white.

Notes: this fungus is characterized by its large tufts of lilac violet fruiting bodies which are branched. Whether this is the same species that is found in the Northern hemisphere has not yet been determined.
