Phyllanthus ligustrifolius is a sub-shrub or shrub of 0.5-1 m high, rarely up to 2 m high, endemic of New Caledonia. It is retsricted to the north east of Grande Terre, at Tonine and from Colnett to Mandjélia. This species occurs in humid forests, probably on ridges on volcano-sedimentary substrates at an altitude range of 500 and 1,100 m asl. The population is not known but this species does not seem to be threatened. With an extent of occurrence (EOO) equal to 204 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 44 km², Phyllanthus ligustrifolius is assessed as Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Phyllanthus ligustrifolius is endemic to New Caledonia where it is retsricted to the north east of Grande Terre, at Tonine and from Colnett to Mandjélia.
Population
Population size is unknown.
Habitat

Threats
This species does not seem to be threatened.
Conservation
Phyllanthus genus is protected by legislation in Province Nord. Phyllanthus ligustrifolius does not occur in any protected area.
