Ptisana salicina is an indigenous fern, restricted to Mont Panié and known from a single herbarium specimen. It would occurs in forest on volcano-sedimentary substrate at an elevation of 500 m asl. This species deserves to be more collected in order to enhance the knowledge of this species. Ptisana salicina is therefore assessed as Data Deficient (DD) for taxonomy and provenance reasons.

Habitat


Ptisana salicina would occurs in forest on volcano-sedimentary substrate at an elevation of 500 m asl.

There is no threat identified.

Conservation


Ptisana salicina is unprotected by legislation but occurs in one protected area: Mont Panié. Taxonomy needs to be clarified. Field surveys in Mont Panié area are recommended in order to address this issue.
