"Generic distribution: Australia, Fiji(?), Lord Howe Island, Maluku Islands, New Caledonia, New Guinea, New Zealand and Tasmania.

This is a species-rich genus, with about 25 species described from Australia. However, this is probably less than one third of the true diversity. In all areas where it occurs, but particularly in Australia and New Guinea, this taxon needs revision. The four species described here are based on a modest number of specimens and collecting events; there is certain to be more new species in New Caledonia to be discovered."
