"Holotype:

Length 19mm, width 10mm. Gleaming black body. Red antennae;

Elytra with convex interstries covered with very large transverse points more or less confluent.

Posterior femurs furnished with strong thorns, with a dense row of long bristles.

Specimens captured in the Malaysian trap at the Blue River Provincial Park in February 1986. "
