Cyphophoenix fulcita is an endemic, solitary, understory to canopy tree palm that is restricted to the south of Grande Terre in New Caledonia. Cyphophoenix fulcita occurs in humid forest on soils derived from ultramafic rocks from 200-750 m asl. With an extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) respectively equal to 1,769 and 184 km² and due to the fact that it is abundant in south of New Caledonia, Cyphophoenix fulcita is considered Least Concern (LC).

Cyphophoenix fulcita is an endemic tree palm that is restricted to south of grande Terre in New Caledonia.
Population
Population size is not precisely known but census report of the population found dense population per station.
Habitat
Cyphophoenix fulcita occurs in humid forest on soils derived from ultramafic rocks from 200-750 m asl.
Threats
The species does not seem globally threatened although some sub-populations may be impacted by invasive species: seed destruction by rats, seedlings destruction by rusa deer (Rusa timorensis), habitat damage by pigs, as well as mining activities and fires.
Conservation
Protected species by legislation in Province Nord, Cyphophoenix fulcita is present in eight protected areas : Pic du grand Kaori, Barrage de Yaté, Montagne des Sources, Rivière bleue, Haute Yaté, Vallée de la Thy, Foret Nord, Pic du Pin.
