Beauprea gracilis is a shrub growing up to 1-5 m high endemic from New Caledonia. It is distributed in the south-south east of Grande Terre (from the far south of the main land to Dumbea-Houailou-Kouaoua) and in the north ouest, from Poya in the southern limit to the upper limit at Tiebaghi. It occurs in forests undergrowth and maquis on ultramafic substrate up to 850 m asl. This species is common and it does not seem threatened although some subpopulations may be impacted by mining activities at Goro, Koniambo, Tiebaghi and Kouaoua. With an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) and Area of Occupancy (AOO) respectively equal to 9,238 and 228 km², Beauprea gracilis is not thought to approach the requirements for listing as threatened. It is listed as Least Concern (LC).

The population size is not known. Field prospections indicate that the species is common.

Conservation

Beauprea gracilis is not protected by legislation in New Caledonia and it does not occur in any protected areas.
