Thiollierea montana is an endemic shrub or small tree of New Caledonia, found in Grande Terre from Houaïlou in the north to Forêt Nord in the south. It occurs in forest on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 200-600 m asl. The main identified threat is linked to habitat damage by uncontrolled bushfires. Its area of occupancy (AOO) and extent of occurrence (EOO) are respectively estimated to be 52 and 3,013 km², while the number of locations is estimated to be eight. Thiollierea montana is therefore assessed as Vulnerable (VU) with criteria B1ab(ii,iii,v)+2ab(ii,iii,v) with a decline of habitat quality and number of mature individuals.

Morierina montana is an endemic shrub or small tree, found in Grande Terre from Houaïlou in the north to Forêt Nord in the south of New Caledonia.
Population
Population size is unknown. It is known from eight sub-populations: Haute Vallée Houaïlou, Nodela - Mé Maoya, Mont Mou, Bords de la Caricouyé, Rivière Bleue, Faux bon secours, Rivière des pirogues, Forêt Nord.

Morierina montana occurs in forest on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 200-600 m asl.
Threats
Main identified threat is linked to habitat damaging by uncontrolled bushfires.
Conservation
Morierina montana occurs in four protected areas : Foret Nord, Rivière bleue, Haute Yaté, Nodela. This species would benefit from ex-situ and in-situ emergency conservation actions. It is recommended to inform the DSCGR (emergency services), responsible for the coordination of the firefighting effort on the presence of the species in the concerned areas.
