Pandanus tectorius is a native shrub of New Caledonia widespread on Grande Terre and the Loyalty Island. It occurs in marine intertidal and mangrove at an altitudinal range 0-110 m asl. Pandanus tectorius does not seem directly threatened and is considered Least Concern (LC).
