Normandia neocaledonica is an endemic shrub of New Caledonia, widespread from Mt Kaala in the North to Pic du grand Kaori in the South of Grande Terre. It occurs in shrubland on ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range 200-1,300 m asl. This species does not seem globally threatened. Normandia neocaledonica is considered Least Concern (LC).

Threats
This species does not seem globally threatened. Some subpopulations may be threatened by mining activities: Kopeto (SLN), Nakéty (SMT), Koniambo (KNS), Nakéty-Euréka_Ménélick (NMC), Vulcain (SMGM), Goro (VALE), Kouaoua (SLN).
Conservation
Normandia neocaledonica occurs in seven protected areas : Pic du Pin, Forêt de Saille, Haute Dumbéa, Montagne des sources, la Dumbéa, Vallée de la Thy, Massif du Kouakoué.
