Alyxia loeseneriana is a liana or climbing shrub endemic of New Caledonia widely distributed across the Grande Terre. It is known from Goro at the far south of the Grande Terre to Col d'Arama at the northern limit. This species occurs in humid forests on ultramafic and non ultramafic substrates up to 900 m asl. This species is a forest species and it is quiet common and it does not seem to be threatened. Therefore Alyxia loeseneriana is as listed Least Concerned (LC).
Geographical area
Alyxia loeseneriana is endemic to New Caledonia where it is widely distributed across the Grande Terre. It is known from Goro at the far south of the Grande Terre to Col d'Arama at the northern limit.
Population
The population size is not known. Field observations indicate a species that is very common.
Habitat
Alyxia loeseneriana occurs in humid forests on utramafic and non ultramafic substrates up to 900 m asl.
Threats
This species is quite a forest species and it is very common and it does not seem to be threatened.
Conservation
This species is protected by legislation in Province Nord and it does occur in several protected areas: la Dumbéa, Aoupinié, Haute Dumbéa, Montagne des sources, Mont Mou, Parc des Grandes Fougères, Vallée de la Thy.
