Alyxia loeseneriana is an endemic liana or climbing shrub from New Caledonia widely distributed across Grande Terre. It is known from Goro at the far south to Col d'Arama. This species occurs in humid forest on ultramafic and non ultramafic substrates between 60 and 900 m asl. This species is a forest species and it is quiet common. It does not seem to be threatened. Its extent of Occurrence (EOO) equal to 10,912 km² and a minimum Area of Occupancy (AOO) of 152 km². Therefore Alyxia loeseneriana is as listed Least Concerned (LC).
Geographical area
Alyxia loeseneriana is endemic to New Caledonia where it is widely distributed across Grande Terre. It is known from Goro at the far south to Col d'Arama.
Population
The population size is not known. Field observations indicate a species that is very common.
Habitat
Alyxia loeseneriana occurs in humid forest on utramafic and non ultramafic substrates up between 60 and 900 m asl.
Threats
This species is quite a forest species and it is very common. It does not seem to be threatened.
Conservation
This species is protected by legislation in Province Nord and it does occur in numerous protected areas: la Dumbéa, Aoupinié, Haute Dumbéa, Montagne des sources, Mont Mou, Parc des Grandes Fougères, Vallée de la Thy.
