Celtis paniculata is a native shrub of New Caledonia distributed in the northern part of Grande Terre as well as its nearby islets, Belep islands, Loyalty islands and Ile des Pins. This species occurs in humid forests and dry forets on volcano-sedimentary substrate up to 200 m asl. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) is equal to 50,559 km² and its area of occupancy (AOO) equal to 120 km², respectively. This species does not seem threatened. Therefore, Celtis paniculata is listed as Least Concern (LC).
