Near Threatened (NT) , assessed in 27/09/2022Myodocarpus nervatus is an endemic shrub restricted to the north west of Grande Terre, from Mé Ori (southern limit) to Kaala massif (upper limit). This species occurs in high elevation maquis on ultramafic substrate between 540 and 1,400 m asl. Its habitat is impacted by recurrent bushfires and mining activities on the Koniambo and Kopeto massifs. Its Area of Occupancy (AOO) and Extent of Occurrence (EOO) being respectively estimated to be 180 and 2,013 km², but the number of locations is considered to be greater than 10. Therefore, Myodocarpus nervatus is assessed as Near Threatened (NT) close to VU B1ab(i,ii,iii,v)+2ab(i,ii,iii,v) with an estimated decline of all the concerned sub-criteria.
Geographical area
Myodocarpus nervatus is endemic to New Caledonia where it is restricted to the north west of Grande Terre, from Mé Ori to Kaala massif.
Population
The population size is not known.

Conservation
Myodocarpus nervatus is not protected by legislation in New Caledonia and it does not occur in any protected area.
