Polyscias dzumacensis is an endemic tree/small tree of New Caledonia restricted to the southern part of Grande Terre. It is found in dense humid forest or shrubland on ultramafic substrate at low-mid altitude. The main threats impacting this species come from habitat degradation caused by bushfires. Its area of occupancy (AOO) and extent of occurrence (EOO) being respectively estimated to 36 and 381 km², Polyscias dzumacensis is considered Vulnerable (VU) using criteria B1ab(iii,v)+2ab(iii,v) with an estimation of 6 locations and a decline of habitat quality and number of mature individuals.

Polyscias dzumacensis is an endemic tree/small tree of New Caledonia restricted to the southern part of Grande Terre (Dumbéa-Dzumac, Mont-Mou, Forêt de Saille).
Population
Population size is unknown. It is known from three subpopulations. Good regeneration has been observed.
Habitat
It is found in dense humid forest or shrubland on ultramafic substrate at low-mid altitude (30-800 m asl).
Threats
The main threats impacting this species come from habitat degradation caused by bushfires.
Conservation
Unprotected by legislation, this species is found in protected areas : Forêt de Saille, Haute Dumbéa
