Alstonia deplanchei is a shrub growing up to 1 m high endemic from New Caledonia. It is distributed in the south west of the Grande Terre, from Poya in the southern limit to the upper limit at Poum. This species occurs in maquis on ultramafic substrate up to 600 m asl. Some subpopulations may be impacted by mining activities at Ouazangou, Boualoudjelima, Kopeto, Poum, Tiebaghi. This species is common and seems to be fire resisting. With an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) and Area of Occupancy (AOO) are 2,323 and 208 km², respectively, Alstonia deplanchei does not seem globally threatened. It is therefore considered Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Alstonia deplanchei is endemic of New Caledonia where it is distributed in the south west of the Grande Terre, from Poya in the southern limit to the upper limit at Poum.
Population
The population size is not known. Field prospections indicate that the species is common and seems to be fire resisting.

Conservation
Alstonia deplanchei is not protected by legislation in New Caledonia and it does not occur in any protected areas.
