Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 22/03/2023Gymnostoma nodiflorum is an endemic tree of New Caledonia. It is distributed in the northern part of Grande Terre, mainly the eastern part. It occurs in riparian areas or swampy areas on serpentine and volcano-sedimentary substrates from 50 to 950 m asl. This species does not seem to be threatened. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are estimated at 7,120 and 128 km², respectively. Therefore, G. nodiflorum is listed as Least Concern (LC).

Geographical area
Gymnostoma nodiflorum is endemic to New Caledonia where it is distributed in the northern part of Grande Terre.
Population
Population size is unknown, but field observations indicate that this species is common.
Habitat
This species occurs in riparian areas or swampy areas on serpentine and volcano- sedimentary substrates from 50 to 950 m asl.
Threats
This species does not seem to be threatened.
Conservation
Gymnostoma nodiflorum is not protected by legislation in New Caledonia but it occurs in one protected area: Mont Panié.
