Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 28/11/2018Hymenophyllum deplanchei is a saxicolous and an epiphytic fern on tree's trunck, endemic of New Caledonia widely distributed from south to the north east of Grande Terre. This species is common and abundant and it is found in dense humid forest from 100 to 1,500 m asl. With an extent of occurrence (EOO) equal to 7,539 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 180 km², H. deplanchei does not seem threatened and therefore is assessed as Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Hymenophyllum deplanchei is endemic to New Caledonia where it is widely distributed across Grande Terre from Ignambi in the north east to Koghis forests in the south.
Population
Population size is unknown. Field surveys emphasize a common and an abundant species starting from 500 m.

Hymenophyllum deplanchei is a saxicolous and epiphytic fern on tree's trunck which occurs in dense humid forest from 100 m to 1,500 m asl.

There is no threat identified.
Conservation
Hymenophyllum deplanchei is not protected by legislation however it does occur in several protected areas: Forêt de Saille, Haute Dumbéa, Haute Yaté, Massif du Kouakoué, la Dumbéa, Vallée de la Thy, Rivière bleue, Pic Ningua, Mont Panié, Mont Mou, Mont Humboldt, Montagne des sources, Aoupinié, Côte Oubliée.
