Hymenophyllum mnioides is an epiphytic fern on tree's trunk endemic of New Caledonia widely distributed from south to the north east of Grande Terre. This species is found in dense humid forest from 200 to 1,220 m asl. Its distribution could be wider than the actual distribution as this species occurs in the canopy. With an extent of occurrence (EOO) equal to 6,671 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 128 km², H. mnioides does not seem threatened and therefore is assessed as Least Concern (LC).
