Critically Endangered (CR) , assessed in 31/01/2023Entolasia marginata is an autochtonous species of New Caledonia where it is only known from Néhoué (north of Koumac) at the north of Grande Terre. This species occurs in scattered clumps on siliceous substrate along river banks at an average altitude of 50 m asl. The main threats to this species are bushfires frequent in the areas. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are both estimated to 4 km² while the number of location is estimated to be one. Therefore, Entolasia marginata is listed as Critically Endangered (CR) under criteria B1ab(iii,v)+B2ab(iii,v).

Entolasia marginata is not protected by legislation in New Caledonia and it does not occur in any protected area. It is recommended to search the species on siliceous substrates in the northern Province mainly along river banks.
