Bulbophyllum keekee is an endemic epiphyte miniature orchid of New Caledonia (1 cm. in high.) distributed from Mont Gouemba to Tchamba valley. B. keekee occurs in forest on peridotitic rocks, in dense humid forest. B. keekee can grow on trunk (Araucaria tree for example), on moss or on rock at an altitudinal range 300-400 m. asl. With an area of occupancy and an extent of occurrence equal to 44 and 5147 km² respectively, B. keekee qualifies as least Concern.

Population size is unknown but based on informations from experts, B. keekee is quite abundant by station.

Habitat


B. keekee occurs in forest on peridotitic rocks, in dense humid forest. B. keekee can grow on trunk (Araucaria tree for example), on moss or on rock at an altitudinal range 300-400 m. asl.

Threats


This species does not seem threatened.

Conservation


B. keekee is protected by legislation in Province Nord and Province Sud and occurs in two protected areas : réserve naturelle du Mont Do and réserve naturelle de la Haute Yaté.
