Bulbophyllum lingulatum is an endemic epiphyte orchid of New Caledonia widespread from Rivière Bleue to Oulebeng on Grande Terre. B. lingulatum occurs in humid forest, in transition area between shrubland and forest, in gallery forest on substrate ultramafic and volcano-sedimentary. B. lingulatum is more abundant above 1000 m. high, but could be found from 200 m. asl. With an area of occupancy and an extent of occurrence equal to 108 and 6823 km² respectively, B. lingulatum qualifies as Least Concern.

B.lingulatum is an endemic epiphyte orchid of New Caledonia widespread from Rivière Bleue to Oulebeng on Grande Terre.
Population
B. lingulatum is quite abundant by station. It can wrap tree trunks, especially Araucaria ones. Despite those observations, we do not have a precise estimation of population size.

Threats
This species does not seem threatened.
Conservation
B. lingulatum is protected by legislation in Province Nord and Province Sud and occurs in numerous protected areas : réserve de nature sauvage du Mont Panié, réserve naturelle de la forêt de Saille, réserve naturelle du Mont Humboldt, réserve naturelle du massif du Kouakoué, réserve naturelle de la Haute Dumbéa, réserve naturelle de la forêt de Saille, réserve naturelle de la Vallée de la Thy, Parc provincial de la Rivière Bleue. Due to its habitat type, field surveys should be conducted on all northeastern coast.
