Bulbophyllum samoanum is a endemic epiphyt orchid of New Caledonia restricted to northern part of Grande Terre between Tchamba and Colnett. B. samoanum occurs in dense humid forest at an altitudinal range 50-400 m. asl. With an area of occupancy and an extent of occurrence equal to 28 and 563 km², B. samoanum qualifies as Least Concern.

This species does not seem threatened.

Conservation


B. samoanum is protected by legislation in Province Nord and Province Sud but does not occur in any protected area. Field surveys in Amoa valley, where B. samoanum could occur, should be conducted.
