in Northern ProvincePandanus altissimus is an endemic small tree of New Caledonia with a scattered distribution in the north-east, centre and south of Grande Terre. It occurs in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary and ultramafic substrate at an altitudinal range of 340-1,200 m asl. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are estimated to be 4,494 and 116 km², respectively. Pandanus altissimus does not seem directly threatened and is therefore onsidered Least Concern (LC).

The population size is unknown.
Habitat
Pandanus altissimus occurs in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary and ultramafic rocks at an altitudinal range 340-1,200 m asl.
Threats
P. altissimus does not seem threathened although some subpopulations may be impacted by mining activities of Camp des Sapins (SLN).
Conservation
Pandanus altissimus is protected by legislation in Province Nord. This species is found in numerous protected areas: Massif du Kouakoué, Haute Yaté, Pic du Pin, Haute Dumbéa, la Dumbéa, Rivière bleue, Haute Pourina, Mont Panié, Mont Do.
