Drosera neocaledonica is an endemic carnivorous herb of New Caledonia spread in the southern massif of Grande Terre from Port-Boisé to Dogny. Drosera neocaledonica occurs in open vegetation (shrubland, occasionnaly forest) at low to high altitude (50-1,280 m asl), essentially on ultramafic substrate. This species does not seem directly threatened. Drosera neocaledonica is considered Least Concern (LC).

Habitat

This species does not seem directly threatened.

Unprotected by legislation, this species occurs in several protected areas : Pic Ningua, Forêt de Saille, Montagne des sources, Rivière bleue, Massif du Kouakoué, Vallée de la Thy, Mont Do, Chutes de la Madeleine
