Brunoniella neocaledonica is an endemic herb of New Caledonia restricted to the north-west of Grande Terre. It is only known from two herbarium specimens collected by MacKee at Poum (Babouillat and Yago), dated from 1967 and 1968. This species has never been relocated in spite of field surveys at different periods of the years since 2015. Based on the two specimens it is found in scrubland on ultramafic substrate up to approximatively 300 m asl. The habitat in the Babouillat and Yago area is highly impacted by frequent bushfires and invasive Rusa Deer (Rusa timorensis). With the lack of recent observations, and presence of severe threats in its known range, Brunoniella neocaledonica is considered Extinct (EX).

Geographical area

Brunoniella neocaledonica is endemic to New Caledonia where it is restricted to the north-west of Grande Terre. It is only known from two herbarium specimens collected by MacKee at Poum (Babouillat and Yago), dated from 1967 and 1968.
