Taxonomy

Red List Status -
Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 24/10/2019Paramollugo digyna is a small and discrete plant (growing up to 10 to 20 cm high), endemic from New Caledonia. This species has a discontinuous distribution across the shrubland and ultramafic substrates of Grande Terre and it is also present at Belep islands and Ile des Pins. Its altitudinal range is up to 460 m asl. Its area of occurence (EOO) is probably higher than the actual distribution as this small species is discrete. However field observations indicate a common species in ultramafic massifs. It has an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) equal to 15,205 km² and a minimum Area of Occupancy (AOO) of 68 km², but it does not appear to be threatened. Therefore, Paramollugo digyna is assessed as Least Concern (LC).
