Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 06/12/2021Alstonia lanceolata is a tree growing up to 5-15 m high endemic from New Caledonia. It has a discontinuous distribution across the Grande Terre. It is distributed in the south west, from Dzumac to Farino and in the north east of Grande Terre, from Arago to Pouebo. It grows mainly in forests and undergrowth forets on volcano-sedimentary substrate at an altitude range of 100-900 m asl. This species is only found in forets and it does not seem threatened. With an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) and Area of Occupancy (AOO) respectively equal to 3,879 and 104 km², Alstonia lanceolata is common and is considered as Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Alstonia lanceolata is endemic to New Caldonia where it has a discontinuous distribution across the Grande Terre. It is distributed in the south west, from Dzumac to Farino and in the north east of Grande Terre, from Arago to Pouebo.
Population
The population size is not known.

Threats
This species is only found in forets and it does not seem threatened.
Conservation
Alstonia lanceolata is not protected by legislation in New Caledonia and it does occur in four protected areas: Haute Dumbéa, Parc des Grandes Fougères, Aoupinié, la Dumbéa.
