Dubouzetia campanulata is an endemic shrub from New Caledonia, where it is mainly distributed in the south and the east coast of Grande Terre. It occurs in shrubland or forest on ultramafic soil up to 500 m asl. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are 7,507 and 284 km², respectively. The main impacts are caused by bushfires and mining activities, but the species does not appear to be directly threatened at the moment. Therefore, D. campanulata is listed as Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
D. campanulata is endemic to New Caledonia, where it is mainly distributed in the south and the east coast Grande Terre, up to Houaïlou. It is also present on two massifs in the north: Tchingou and Tiébaghi.
Population
Population size is unknown.
Habitat
D. campanulata occurs in shrubland or forest on ultramafic soil up to 500 m asl.
Threats
This species does not seem directly threatened at the moment. However, some subpopulations are impacted by bushfires and mining activities.
Conservation
This species is not protected by any legislation in New Caledonia, but it occurs in three protected areas: Massif du Kouakoué, Mont Humboldt, Haute Dumbéa.
