Spiraeanthemum meridionale is an endemic shrub/small tree of the southern part of Grande Terre in New Caledonia. It is found in shrubland and humid forest at low and mid altitude on ultramafic substrate. This species does not seem globally threatened. Spiraeanthemum meridionale is considered Least Concern (LC).

Geographical area


Spiraeanthemum meridionale is spread in the southern part of Grande Terre in New Caledonia, from Prony in Yaté to Mont Dzumacs.

Population


Population size is unknown.

Habitat


It is found in shrubland and humid forest at low and mid altitude (150-800 m asl)on ultramafic substrate.

Threats


This species does not seem globally threatened.

Conservation


Unprotected by legislation, this species is found in several protected areas : Montagne des sources, Pic du grand Kaori, Foret Nord, Pic du Pin, Haute Yaté, Vallée de la Thy, Rivière bleue This species could be used in ecological restoration.
