Cunonia linearisepala is an endemic tree of New Caledonia. It is essentially found in humid forest at low altitude on various substrates (50-500 m asl). This species is largely distributed and does not seem directly threatened. Cunonia linearisepala is considered Least Concern (LC).

Geographical area


Cunonia linearisepala's distribution is a bit enigmatis as disjointed : in southern Grande Terre from Mont-Mou to Rivière des Pirogues to Yaté and in the north-west in Houaïlou and Hienghène.

Population


Population size is unknown.

Habitat


It is essentially found in humid forest at low altitudeon various substrates (50-500 m asl).

Threats


This species does not seem globally threatened. The Koghis subpopulation may be threatened by Nouméa urbanization.

Conservation


Unprotected by legislation, this species is found in numerous protected areas : Mont Panié, Vallée de la Thy, Rivière bleue, Mont Mou.
