Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 21/07/2016Pancheria calophylla is an endemic shrub/tree of New Caledonia. It is found in shrubland and dense humid forest on ultramafic substrate at mid and high altitude. This species does not seem directly threatened. Pancheria calophylla is considered Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Pancheria calophylla is widely spread across Grande Terre from Mont Koghis in the south to Taom in the north.
Population
This species is common in its habitat.
Habitat
It is found in shrubland and dense humid forest on ultramafic substrate at mid and high altitude (800-1,150 m asl).
Threats
This species does not seem globally threatened. Some subpopulations may be threatened by mining activities (Kaala, Taom, Koniambo, Kouaoua, Camp des Sapins).
Conservation
Unprotected by legislation, this species is found in numerous protected areas : Vallée de la Thy, Haute Pourina, Rivière bleue, Mont Mou, Mont Do, Forêt de Saille, Massif du Kouakoué
