Pancheria × heterophylla is an endemic tree of the southern part of Grande Terre in New Caledonia. It is found in shrubland and forest edges at rather high altitude on ultramafic substrate. This taxa seems to be hybrid and it is unsure it is a real species. Therefore, this taxa is considered Data Deficient (DD) for taxonomic reasons. Being an hybrid this taxa is not submitted to the red lsit and classified as NE (Not Evaluated).

Geographical area


This taxa is restricted to the south-west of Grande Terre (Mont-Mou).

Population


It is known from one subpopulation of around 10 individuals.

Habitat


It is found in shrubland and forest edges at rather high altitude on ultramafic substrate.

Threats


This taxa does not seem globally threatened.

Conservation


This taxa is known in one protected area : Mont-Mou
