Pancheria reticulata is an endemic shrub of New Caledonia rather widely spread on Grande Terre. It is found in shrubland and occasionnaly forest on ultramafic substrate at mid and high altitude. The main impact identified comes from mining activities and bushfires. This species is rarely abundant and it is sparsely distributed. Its area of occupancy (AOO) and extent of occurrence (EOO) being respectively estimated to 196 and 8,644 km², Pancheria reticulata is considered Near Threatened (NT) close to VU B1ab(iii)+2ab(iii) with a decline of habitat quality and a number of locations close to 10.
Geographical area
Pancheria reticulata is sparsely spread on Grande Terre : on the mining massif of the west coast, on the east coast and in the south.
Population
This species is rarely abundant and it is sparsely distributed.
Habitat
It is found in shrubland and occasionnaly forest on ultramafic substrate at mid and high altitude (600-1,200 m asl).
Threats
The main impact identified comes from mining activities (Tiébaghi, Kaala, Koniambo, Kopéto, Kouaoua, Camp des Sapins) and bushfires.
Conservation
Unprotected by legislation, this species is found in two protected areas : Rivière Bleue, Mont-Mou.
