Pancheria ternata is an endemic shrub/tree of New Caledonia. It is found in forest (edges and undergrowth) and occasionnaly shrubland on various substrates at low and mid altitude. This species does not seem directly threatened. Pancheria ternata is considered Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Pancheria ternata is widely spread across Grande Terre and is also present on Ile des Pins and Bélep islands.
Population
This species is common, especially in southern Grande-Terre.
Habitat
It is found in forest (edges and undergrowth) and occasionnaly shrubland on various substrates at low and mid altitude (0-800 m asl).
Threats
This species does not seem globally threatened. Some subpopulations may be threatened by mining activities.
Conservation
Unprotected by legislation, this species is found in several protected areas : Massif du Kouakoué, Vallée de la Thy, Aoupinié, Foret Nord, Nodela, Pic du grand Kaori, Parc des Grandes Fougères, Rivière bleue
